"If you have a beard or moustache under your nose, it's only natural that you would be smelling it all day long and, sometimes, the smell isn't that great," says Brand Manager William "Bill" Kochanski. " A beard is an odor trapper. If you smoke or are around smokers, if you are working around strong smells, it can get caught in your whiskers. Also, the skin underneath isn't getting exfoliated and those oil glands aren't getting flushed out so they can exude a not-always-pleasant scent. Even shampooing a beard doesn't always do the trick."
Many men will dab a bit of cologne on their beard but this is masking the musk. Clubman Beard & Tattoo Oil is formulated with an odor neutralizer to draw away the unpleasant smell and leave its own clean, subtle scent after the intial dry-down. It contains Argan Oil which provides superior skin and hair moisturizing, plus essential fatty acids. "And when you use it to refresh your tattoo it will virtually make it look freshly inked," explains Kochanski. "It will add depth and seemingly more color that was present before."
Two other offerings in the Clubman beard-care category help to clean, condition and groom the facial hair, all without drying surfactants or salts.
2-in-1 Beard Conditioner: Cold weather, pollution, hard water and cleansers can strip facial hair of its natural luster leaving it dry and brittle and the skin hiding underneath, flaky and itchy. Light-weight and easily absorbable, Clubman2-in-1 Beard Conditioner softens whiskers and moisturizes skin.
Beard Balm: When moustache wax is too strong and hair products not strong enough, ClubmanBeard Balm bridges the gap. The blend of Coconut Oil, panthenol and natural beeswax tame the beard with a pomade-like consistency that is easy to apply for control and shine.
"We make high-end products for professional use but at a friendly price point," Kochanski says."Beauty supply stores carrying these Clubman items have discovered a whole new client base. Guys weren't normally walking through their doors. Now, men--and women buying for their men--have heard about the Beard Oil and they come looking for it, they like it, and they come back for more and often purchase the system of three. It has been a huge success because beards are a huge trend."
