On April 24, Lucky Spot Barbershop hosted it’s third Barber Education Retreat in Tampa, Florida, and for the first time, the retreat included an educational component featuring celebrity barbers such as Kenny Duncan, Corey Duval, and Frederick “Sipp the Surgeon” Johnson.

The retreat also hosted a roundtable curated by Shaun Corbett, owner of Lucky Spot Barbershop, an African American-owned and operated barbershop with multiple locations inside Walmart stores across the country. To date, Lucky Spot has five locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and is on target to open up four more by the end of 2023.

Giving Back

Lucky Spot is deeply rooted in community, regulary giving back to local charities. In 2015, Lucky Spot teamed up with Detective Garry McFadden to create Cops & Barbers, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and social justice education to young people pursuing a career in barbering.

As a professional barbershop, Lucky Spot has adopted many of the systems and structures from the corporate world, and prides itself on championing education, ownership and the importance of staying on top of your game at all times.
