This post about removing black hair color is always timely because the process can be so time-consuming and needs to be explained to a client. Whether it was the result of an in-salon service or the black color came from a client doing some at-home experimentation (and no shame or blame, especially in a COVID-19 world), we know that those black color molecules are stubborn little guys. It's always good to read one expert's solution for kicking them out of the hair strand.

How to Remove Black Hair Dye Color Correction

Removing Black Dye: 10 hours, 2 days, and $1000 (estimate)

Here is the breakdown 👇🏼

STEP ONE: "After doing the strand test I went in with Rusk Hair Care Elim8 color remover. This gave me a great canvas to start with so I could go in with my final arsenal."

STEP TWO: Babylights and microslices with Matrix Lightmaster 20vol into 30vol.

STEP THREE: Lifted to level 9 at top and orange levels 7/8 on mids and ends (black hair dye would not budge).

STEP FOUR: 5 minute Kenra Anti Brass on ends only.

STEP FIVE: Final shade Kenra Color Sync 7N/7A into 7A on dry hair.
