Hello Hair Co., owned by husband and wife duo Todd and Jen Ford in Londonderry, New Hampshire, is a hybrid between a barbershop and a salon. Hello Hair Co.’s team of licensed barbers and stylists offer a wide range of hair and skin services and many of them are dual-licensed.

Throughout the modern space, the couple feature vintage salon and barbershop artwork. “We wanted to create a space that was modern and   utilized technology, but also was balanced and remained grounded through nods from the past,” Todd says.

They tapped Tyler Caswell, an artist friend of theirs, to help them create their signature look. The Fords offered Caswell a blank wall and gave him free rein, and he painted an intricate mural to pull clients into the culture of the space.

One of the biggest challenges the Fords faced was that the previous space had been a salon and spa, and they ended up taking the space down to the concrete, demoing walls and beginning the buildout from the ground up.

The resulting space is wide open and bright, with retail shelving to the left of the check-in podium. The salon cutting room is outfitted with six chairs and round backlit LED mirrors that feature overhead lighting platforms and blowdryers. A half wall creates separation into the barbering area, which still keeps the establishment cohesive.

The barber chairs are modern with a vintage design. The stations are simple with square backlit mirrors.

Located around the corner is a semi-private wash station area. Clients can enjoy a shampoo fully reclined with dimmed overhead lighting, allowing them to completely relax.
